Terms & Conditions

About These Terms

These Terms & Conditions apply to the use of The Private Nanny Co. website and the nanny introduction and placement services provided by The Private Nanny Co.

By using our website, registering as a nanny, booking a consultation or engaging our services, you agree to these Terms & Conditions where applicable.

The Private Nanny Co. provides a nanny introduction and placement service connecting families with professional nannies and childcare professionals.

Our Services

The Private Nanny Co. provides a recruitment and introduction service designed to connect families with nannies and childcare professionals who may be suitable for their requirements.

We take reasonable steps to assess candidates and facilitate appropriate introductions. However, the final decision to engage or employ a nanny remains with the family, and the final decision to accept a position remains with the nanny.

Unless otherwise agreed in writing, any employment relationship is directly between the family and the nanny. The Private Nanny Co. is not the employer of nannies introduced through our service.

Family Responsibilities

Families are responsible for providing accurate and complete information about their childcare requirements, household and the role being offered.

Families are responsible for making the final decision when engaging a nanny and for ensuring that appropriate employment arrangements are put in place, including a written employment contract, salary arrangements, tax and National Insurance obligations, holiday entitlement and any other applicable employment requirements.

Families should satisfy themselves that the nanny they choose is suitable for their individual circumstances before employment begins.

Nanny Responsibilities

Nannies are responsible for providing accurate and complete information about their experience, qualifications, employment history, availability and suitability for childcare roles.

Nannies must inform The Private Nanny Co. if any information provided during registration or the placement process changes or is no longer accurate.

Nannies are responsible for providing any requested documentation, references and evidence of relevant checks or qualifications. Any information or documentation provided must be genuine, current and accurate.

Nannies remain responsible for deciding whether a role is suitable for them and for reviewing and agreeing their employment terms directly with the family before accepting a position.

Candidate Checks and References

The Private Nanny Co. may carry out or request relevant checks as part of the registration and placement process. These may include identity checks, employment history, references, qualifications, right-to-work documentation, DBS status and relevant childcare certifications.

While we take reasonable steps to verify information provided to us, no screening or checking process can guarantee a candidate’s future conduct or suitability in every circumstance.

Families remain responsible for making their own final assessment and decision before employing a nanny.

Placement Fees and Payment

Any fees payable by families for The Private Nanny Co.’s services will be communicated clearly before the placement process begins.

Fees, payment terms and any applicable replacement or refund provisions will be set out in the relevant agreement provided to the family.

A family must not employ or otherwise engage a nanny introduced by The Private Nanny Co. without notifying the agency and paying any applicable placement fee in accordance with the agreed terms.

Introductions and Placements

Any nanny introduced to a family by The Private Nanny Co. will be considered an introduction made by the agency.

If a family subsequently employs or engages a nanny introduced by The Private Nanny Co., whether directly or indirectly, the family must notify us and any applicable placement fee will become payable in accordance with the agreed terms.

Families should not pass a nanny’s details to another person or family without the prior consent of The Private Nanny Co.

Cancellations and Charges

Families and nannies should notify The Private Nanny Co. as soon as possible if their circumstances, availability or requirements change during the recruitment or placement process.

Consultation appointments should be cancelled or rescheduled with as much notice as reasonably possible.

Any cancellation, replacement or refund terms relating to a confirmed placement will be governed by the agreement provided to the family.

Limitations of Liability

The Private Nanny Co. takes reasonable care when providing its introduction and placement services. However, we cannot guarantee that any particular introduction will result in a successful placement or that a placement will continue for any particular length of time.

The Private Nanny Co. is not responsible for the acts, omissions or conduct of families or nannies following an introduction or placement, except where liability cannot legally be excluded or limited.

Nothing in these Terms & Conditions excludes or limits any liability that cannot be excluded or limited under applicable law.
